What causes cellulite will often be different depending on who you ask. Many doctors
firmly believe that cellulite can be mainly attributed to your diet and lifestyle.
They’ll tell you to eat right, get plenty of exercise and drink lots of water. Others,
who believe in more natural ways of life, may tell you that it’s simply water retention
or the like. The fact is that cellulite can be caused by many different things. It
can be all of the above, but it can also be caused by digestive problems, pregnancy,
smoking, toxin build-
whether you’ll have cellulite, it does play a role based on other factors that your genetics determine. Things like your weight disposition, hormones, and thyroid.
Lesser known causes of cellulite include stress and surgery. If you’re always stressed
out, your adrenaline surges can result in a fat build-
During pregnancy you are rapidly gaining weight and your
hormones are raging. These hormones can weaken
connective tissues. You are retaining more water than normal.
Your circulation and lymph drainage are slowed by the
pressure from the womb. Not to mention that there’s a good
chance you’re binging on those goodies that you’re craving.
All of these things can be attributed to the formation of
cellulite during pregnancy, because your fat cells are swelling
due to your body not being able to get rid of all the toxins
and fluids that are building up. However, not everyone will
develop cellulite during pregnancy. If cellulite seems to run in your family, your chances of developing cellulite during pregnancy are higher.
Most of us believe that cellulite occurs mostly in women, but men can also have cellulite. While cellulite is not as common in men it does happen. The main reason it isn't as common in men is due to the fact that their skin is thicker than women. Normally women develop cellulite on their thighs, breasts, buttocks, and abdomen while men develop cellulite on the neck and abdomen. For men that are overweight, cellulite develops deeper in the skin more than women which causes the cellulite to be deposited in different places. This is another reason why men do not get cellulite as often as women.
What causes cellulite in women is fat build up. It doesn't mean that you have to be fat to have cellulite. Women of all sizes and shapes can have cellulite from the thinnest woman to the heaviest woman. Fat is stored deep down in the layers of the skin. Once that fat builds up, the fat chambers rise up and begin to push against connective tissue. This is what makes the surface of the skin develop dimples, lumps, and bumps that remind you of orange peels or cottage cheese. The more fat that is stored in the layers of the skin the larger the area of cellulite.
Vein systems in the arm that aren’t working as they should
can often be what causes cellulite on arms. It can also be
the result of venous flow being hindered, and is commonly
seen in people who also have cellulite on the legs. Usually,
you’ll see cellulite on the arms in older women, but it’s not
exclusively found in older women. Cellulite on the arms is
not nearly as common as cellulite on other parts of the body,
but if you’re prone to cellulite you may find yourself dealing
with it.
Your butt is a magnet for the formation of cellulite, especially
if you’re a woman. What causes cellulite on buttocks? Your
butt is one of the main areas where your body stores fat.
When you gain more fat, your fat muscles will swell up. The
connective tissues under the skin remain the same, but begin
to be pressured by the fat cells and you end up with that
dimply look… not the cute dimply look of dimples on your
cheeks, but the cottage-
cellulite. You can develop cellulite on your buttocks
regardless of your age or weight, though.
Cellulite is made up of fluid, fat, and toxins found in the body.
Women that are of childbearing years and still experience
hormonal cycles are prone to storing more fat than men. If
you want to get rid of the cellulite in your legs you first have
to eliminate the toxins in your body. By reducing the toxins
you also reduce the amount of fat in your body as well. It's not
hard to reduce toxins in your body. However, it does require
a great deal of discipline. Going on a detox diet is not an
immediate cure for cellulite but it does have permanent and long lasting results.
Stomach cellulite can be traced to many different causes.
Digestive disorders are often to blame for stomach cellulite
if it is found on the lower area of your stomach. A weak
digestive system is probably the most common cause for
cellulite on your stomach, which often stems from a poor
diet. If you suffer from an irritable bowel or constipation
and you also have cellulite on your lower stomach, your
digestive may certainly be to blame. Pregnancy, hormones,
a sedentary lifestyle, obesity, smoking, surgery in the stomach
or pelvic region, stress, and genetics can all be a cause for
cellulite on the stomach, too.
Cellulite on the thighs is usually prevalent on the back side.
However, it can also rear its ugly head on the front of your
thighs, too. So what causes cellulite on thighs? Just as
anywhere else on your body that cellulite forms, it’s normally
due to fat cells that have become swollen or hardened.
Since the front of your thighs has more muscle and less fat
than the back, you usually see cellulite on the thighs form in
the rear. If your thigh muscles are nicely toned, the
appearance of any cellulite is dramatically less noticeable.
